Coming in from the west coast we have unique the AluMak High-Speed Trolling lure for ICAST 2023. The first of its kind it is a fully CNC’d aluminum high-speed trolling plug. In a market full of lures made of molded ABS plastic around a through wire harnesses, the Alumak is different. Made of 100% CNC machined 6061 Aircraft Grade Aluminum this lure is meant to solve the longevity problem of other trolling lures on the market today. Especially with toothy fish like king mackerel, wahoo, and barracuda plastic trolling plugs can often be broken in half or have the hook eyes pulled from the plastic ruining how they swim. Each Alumak trolling lure is made from two symmetrical shells machined out of a single block of 6061 aircraft aluminum. Due to the precision machining being accurate within .005 of an inch, there is no need for tuning on the water.
The hook eyelets are made of machined steel that slots into the aluminum shells and then are locked into place with 316 marine grade stainless steel crews, precision TIG welding and glue to make sure these lures will last a lifetime as long as they don’t get broken or cut off the line. All Alumaks are finished off with a durable Type II anodize and lasered etched stripes that are impregnated into the aluminum itself so they will not chip or peel off like traditional painted finishes. The Alumak is available in two sizes, an 8-inch lure that weighs in at 9 ounces and a 10-inch lure that weighs in at 15.5 ounces. Both lures can be trolled at 6-17 knots and will come prerigged with hook styles of your choosing if ordered online.
